My brother has been talking about nothing but GTA4 for the past months. :stuck_out_tongue:

If he’s lucky, he might be able to pick it up tomorrow.

If he can, I’ll have him pick up a copy for me, too. o3o

It’s pretty much getting game of the year, period.

Pfft. Prototype is going to end up getting it. You can take that to the bank. They’ll turn you away, but you can take it there, damnit.

haahhaaha, joking right? Prototype looks tight to be sure, but GTA 4 is just… 10/10… UNDERSTAND!?

Prototype is where it’s at. It’s GTA 4…with powers.

Prototype should be good, but GTAIV will be better. Sorry man

When Niko learns to super jump, I’ll agree.

i like the new shooting/weapon system in gta4
it looks great

He’ll probably have a jetpack, way cooler than some super-jumping panzy in my book.

Jet packs have no place in NYC. If it’s in the game, I’ll have to destroy it after beating it.

Then you’re destined to destroy a fantastic game. Too bad. Oh and wait a second, jetpacks have no place in NYC, yet superhumans would? Hrm…

Superhumans ------> Marvel/Superhero/Metahuman Universe | Absolutely
Jet pack ---------> Realistic, albeit slightly changed NYC | No

If a jet pack is in the game, it’s probably as a cheat. It doesn’t do anything a helicopter can’t do better, other than suck. Like the jet pack in SA.

GTA isn’t a game to be taken seriously though. Hence, jetpacks, one of it’s many humorous twists. I don’t take any game seriously that allows me to fly a pink helicopter into a police barricade, or walk up to random people and beat them senseless with a hammer.

It’s inefficient, slow and unless they throw in a “TOP SECRET” military base or laboratory, or really make a stretch and say they’ve acquired one through illegal means, it doesn’t really make sense.

GTA has always and will always be (keyword here) mindless fun. Sure, there’s a story, and there’s the occasional realistic touch, but the goal is usually the same: kill a mass of people with your thumbs and take their super hotdogs back to Mr. Hot Dog because they’re so much better than his, then get paid. Then repeat. That’s pretty much the GTA formula.

That isn’t what GTA 4 is about though. The story actually matters this time, and it’s supposed to be good. You can kill just as many people from a helicopter as you can from a jet pack. The only difference is you can get shot while in a jet pack. It probably won’t be in for the same reason there aren’t any airplanes: it’s unnecessary.

Planes (and jetpacks for that matter) were unnecessary in San Andreas, yet they remained a fun part of the game. :open_mouth:

But anyway, this argument is uber pointless as neither of us has actually played the game yet.
