While I do not agree with most religions and do not understand why people believe them, I still have respect for those who do so, as long as they don’t constantly try to preach and try to prove me wrong for what I believe.
Religion has done wonders for the world, its also caused travesty. To say there should be a divide between those who believe and those that don’t believe, ruins the opportunity of being free from any kind of allegiance to a specific religion. I find hard lined atheists just as obnoxious and self righteous as any religiously indoctrinated person. That’s just how they come across.

That’s the thing… everybody wants to be right. God is always right, and I believe in God, therefore my beliefs are right. On the opposite, Atheists might believe God is always wrong, and people who believe in God are also wrong. Both will back up why they’re right and the other is wrong with their own BS. It just creates a wall. What’s the point of believing in something if you can’t share it with others?
This is the grey area in between that the right people believe. Some like to share God, others like to share what is not God, and we all like them for that. But some people like to tell you what God is and to tell you what God is not, and those are the people we can’t stand.
When you’re free to believe and accepted for sharing that belief, that’s when God is with us. Our country was founded with God for that reason. Religious freedom is where our country began from, and we’ve all forgotten, for lack of our own cultural traditions, exactly what that should mean to us. In God We Trust on a dollar, in its origin, most likely was a thought of sharing money amongst ourselves, where now everyone is obsessed with hoarding it. It’s become a meaningless word to most, having no related context within Science and modern words.
You know why Science and Religion are at odds? Because the word God was reserved for the bible, and using it anywhere BUT the bible within its own safety was frowned upon. If the bible had shared the word of God with Science, I think we’d all have a different perspective on the world now.
If you’re talking about America you are factually wrong. The country was not founded with or about any god. As for the bull**** label on our cash, that was put there in rather recent history thanks to fundies.

I dont think Goku ever believed in Kami. A lot of people on earth did, however they didnt expect him to be an old green dude from a planet called Namek. I always found that an funny, interesting concept that Toriyama had.
Let’s say you walked into a large room with twenty people in it. You say the word “God” aloud, and they all look at you. The problem is that you say “God” but it’s not known whether you mean the Judaic God, Catholic God, Islamic God, or the Christian God. This is why religion has become useless or needs an upgrade or some kind of theological treaty/agreement. The only difference I can see between the four “Gods” is the people. This is why Religion is effecting Economics and Science and people are becoming Athiests to avoid this problem.
Science and Religion are at odds because Religion says that the Earth is thousands of years old, and Science says it’s possibly billions of years old. But, that’s just one argument, NOT A DISAGREEMENT… Religion is so scared of becoming obsolete that they treat Science like it actually has a clergy. The same can be said for Athiests and/or Agnostics, they’re obviously not religions either.
I’m not claiming to know how old the Earth is, and I realize that it’s impossible to know the exact number. What the real issue here is, is that we’ve allowed people who are higher than us on the food chain, to turn is into brain-washed zombies for their convenience. If someone more rich and powerful than you tells you that he/she achieved everything through a “God” and you should too, you’re going to consider the option. But, the truth is that this person achieved their goals through determination, focus, and luck… nothing else. Why do we need to attach a “God” to the situation? It seems to be flawed excuse. If you fail… then what? Do you go looking for another God? And, what if there is only one? Do you believe this “God” hates you? Some people want Science and Religion to co-exist… it’s impossible, because Religion dillutes logic, while Science requires it’s undivided application. The Human Species (not God’s Children) needs to realize that whatever allows us to progress, it can’t be inspired by mere political and economic tools. It’s counter-productive.

In a way atleast. I believe in my own interpretation of the Bible and not every scrap the church feeds me. Yet im still a christian. But i do not defy logic or anything like that.

Wrong. Atheist, by its very definition, is simply a label for those who do not believe, just as theist is a label for those who do. Do you require a belief that the tooth fairy isn’t real? How about unicorns?.
The burden of proof is always on the one making the assertion. It requires no belief to not believe.
Agnostic is just someone who doesn’t want to say either way. “Well I can’t say either way if there’s an easter bunny.” That’s an agnostic.
