I remember watching the first Broly movie and just being crushed. It was SO bad. Broly is for all the 12 year old fans who think the bigger a character's muscles are, the better he is. I was just rewatching a few episodes and noticed that Dabura does use Ki attacks, so I don't think the buddy system would be necessary if he ever was used.
