ppff.. Ok what I meant was. For forms , Eyes, proportions and whatever has to do with how the character looks, USE MANGA PICTURES! and no anime screencaps.
The colors you see in the manga are done with waterpaint(or howevr theyre called)by kishimoto himself. So for COLORS theres no problem to...
looks cool.. tho here are some crits:
Overall on the dark parts of the clothing.. I think u used a too light color for the highlights.
Also at the pants the seem is very vissable.
The swords colors are wrong(check shippuuden episode 1).
might use a bit more reds on the skin tone.. right now...

Also the way you painted the folds on his sleeve's is wrong.

yeh... about the skin.. I ****ed up. I forgot to uvw map 1 part and now that part is black on the model.. I allready transformed the model back to editable poly after the uvw map stuff. If i do a "unwrap UVW" modifier again. Do i have to start over??

I chose babidi, cause I dont think he's ever been modeled b4
(or atleast not much)
atm it is 1710 tris.I didnt really aim for a certain amount, just tried to stay as low as possible with adding as much detail as i found needed to be there...
looking nice dood.. Tho i dont think modeling his stomach muscles really serves a purpose.I think you should just skin those.I mean you cant even realy see them from any other views then the front.

I think you are having the wrong idea here
ofcourse this is true.. But it takes a skilled modeler to make something great/decent with as less polygons as possible.
I think THAT is what you need to be aiming for at this moment.. just start as low poly as you can.. form a basic shape.. and...
