    Out of date message with LAN server

    Hi, upfront I read all the posts about this subject but couldnt find the answer. I want to run a LAN server ESF 1.2.3 . I keeps telling me the HL files out of date and i must update. I know it only really works with steam but i just want to play in a LAN so it MUST (!!!) work somehow...
