if characters were chosen out of game then it would be easier to have added characters and have a default for when people are using a model you dont have.. (like how HLdm works, also specialists).

destructable wouldnt be too bad, they could have just certain parts of things destroy when hid. Breakables are doable in HL and as far as i've seen not laggy (in cs). Like maybe you have the arena, and a tops of 3 craters could be made (pre specified) or on a mountain side, maybe like 1 or 2...

i was just messing around and started up the map forest and my fps went to 5 and was like wtf, casue my fps never gets below 85. Here it was taking screenshots upon screenshots whenever i looked at teh ground... I wasnt even doing any attacks.
