Not bad at all, but I have a few suggestions. The skintone is too pale, adding some more colour variation like browns, yellows would liven up the texture a lot. The placement of folds is a bit awkward. I find that the most trouble skinning folds is to actually place them where they look...

Interesting, looks messy in some areas though. Post the low-poly version. If you can't get it right and have good mesh flow with the low poly version, then the high poly version is just going to look worse.

Who's your modeling instructor? :P Anyway it's looking pretty good but you may have some wasted polygons in the pelvis area and foot. Remember, every polygon should define something clearly ;)

Hehe Ryeko, now I like where this new WIP is going :)

Well you see, a high poly model can be made from a well structured low poly or med poly model. From what I see, it just looks you tried to model something and added tons of mesh smooth. Twelve thousand polygons, and I don't even know if that's tri's. This is a absoloutely ridiculous polycount...

One of your first models? With the high poly tools that are provided today by most modelling programs, many beginners don't understand how to use polygons! Look up a tutorial on LOW POLY character modelling and go through that. It will help you a huge amount.

    Dial-up having upload over 300?

I recently converted to broadband. Crappy broadband that is. If dialup was really that fast, it'd be faster than my broadband upload speeds!

    The dog, Lukyas' 4th model!

*sigh If you're serious about not be able to find a poly by poly tutorial, (and I told you not to use a tutorial to see how much knowledge you actually know before you go thinking "I'm happy with my dog model") then you really need a tutorial on how to use google. We're not here to do your...

    The dog, Lukyas' 4th model!

what?? what do you mean. so you failed to meshsmooth it and now he is high poly? i'm really confused. do yourself a favour and please take my advice. if you can't figure out how to use polygons on your own, how can you figure out texturing? you can't simply be a good painter from one tutorial. i...

    The dog, Lukyas' 4th model!

Don't mesh smooth your models. Unless you are doing high poly models, it takes away all the definition that your vertices tried to define. Stop smoothing everything, and try to model a character model without using tutorials using polygon by polygon techniques. That's the only way we're going...

    i wanna start moddeling!!

GMAX OR BLENDER!! NOT MILKSHAPE! PLEASE!! Although milkshape is easy to pick up, it lures you into it's easy interface. Once you start making models, you will find how annoying some of the tools are, that's why I tried to switch modeling programs. When I started using GMAX, it was so hard...

    Improvement

You mean extruding edges and stuff? I think that would fall under poly by poly, even though it isn't specifically poly by poly. Look up LOW POLY character tutorials, those are almost guaranteed to be what you need.

    Improvement

I like how you completely ignored my advice and the advice of others, good luck, you're on your own... I will say it once again. Learn how to model POLY by POLY first, then use these techniques to speed up modeling. Right now, you have practically no understanding of topology (polyflow). I...

Learn to do poly by poly modeling, don't jump into the deep end with high poly straight away.

    Presea [Newb inside]

Only your second model? wow, nice :D I don't know much about this character, but the only tip i can give you is not to rely on using primitives too much, like you did for the face. Primitives is good, but you have to learn how to construct a face with edge loops and stuff for a lil more...

I think Friskie is quite well aware of these things :P Obviously he modeled an inside mouth so that it can be animated, and he may have left the mouth hanging slightly open for this purpose. He skinned the muscles on the eyebrows, that's why they're there, not because of some "error". You may be...

    Does anyone know this?

Ohh, CS:Source models? That's a completely different story, the process for that is much more complicated :/, sorry, I can't help you there.

Easy peasy: Grab yourself a model decompiler/compiler. I recommend milkshape as it can do both. Now, decompile the HL model you want to assign into a new folder, but just the reference SMD and texture files. Now, do the same for the CS model in the same folder, this time, export everything...
