Hey, could someone please help me? I've done everything the installing thread said (buying hl1, running it, installing esfb1.2.3) but it doesn't appear in my games list?

Well i am currently new to ESF and i need help Installing, two Questions 1: When im installing ESF it says something like: IMPORTANT You must run steam once prior to installing the steam version of ESF wat does that mean?? 2: When i go to games and then double click on ESF theres a Fatal Error...
