Hey, it could be worse. I'm on my 5th Xbox 360 "elite" luckily this one is finally running strong. Every single last Elite they sent me RROD'd within 20 minutes to 5 days. I love Microsoft.

You might as well just download the updates, it doesn't cost anything. And the cooler unit isn't the best idea mine shorted out and nearly took the 360 with it, although it doesn't happen to everyone. So if you want to risk it, go for it.
