So there is actually a melee attack setting? Does this mean that if I want to shoot after the melee I have to switch to it? Thanks

Almost every time I try to do the melee it does not start. I swoop towards a target and end up flying right pass them every time. Yet I see that no one else is having problems starting melees. It seems like they are able to block it or something. Can anyone help...
