I got them all, they glow, and I got the D-ball mode thingy selected, what now?

Uhh... This is what I am doing, I have the PL listed that I should transform. I am on the ground and not in turbo. I hit 'Z' and nothing happens. What is going wrong?

I look at my controls list and didn't find it, I looked here in the forums and found 'Z' being the default, but I tried it. I reach the PL and held it down for 2 minutes. I was not flying and I had full ki. Any commmands I should do, and I am I being that much of a n00b. Plz don't flame.
