i've had the same problem. The trick is to install the patch in your half-life folder (C:\Sierra\half-life, or something), and not C:\Sierra\Half-life\esf

Everytime I try to enter the multiplayer lobby of esf, I get the following message: Your Earth special forces executable is out of date. Eath special forces will now update to the current version." When I click "ok", it launches the half-life updater and tells me my version is out of date, but...

OMG, this actually worked!! Thanks a million, Yumi!! Once I started using openGL, the screen stopped messing up! Also, the swoop animation is now done correctly, and my opponents done disappear anymore! Finally, the game seems to run way smoother, and there's no lag anymore during explosions...

Ok, please help me out here. I d'loaded esf 5 days ago and I loved it straight away. But... I haven't been able to do one good melee fight. Here's what happens: When someone charges me, the prepunch sequence beginns. I can hear this, but I can't see it, because the screen goes completely...
