Remember where NNK is doing well at a glance, to my knowledge it is just SV working on it at the moment so development has slowed down. Also the have only shown off 2 character for the game with maybe 2 others in very early development stages. ESF has much more than that in terms of characters...

True there are working characters in the game but they are all not completed, even the ones that do seem complete most likely still have work to be done to them. What you have seen is what they want to show you. They aren't gonna publicly show incomplete works that are at an unacceptable level...

I like the lightning Bolt to the left the most. To me it reminds me of when Goku turns super saiyan for the first time. Very nice indeed.

I think the stationary beam fire method is good. I did like the ESF 1.2.3 movement when firing beams but heck I can see things getting fun and interesting having to be stationary.

You obviously don't want your question answered. It is true ESF: Final has no release date, but the more they do, the longer it will take to complete the mod and release it. Sure it doesn't look like it will be released any time soon but you don't want it to take any longer than it has to.

In a way you could say the videos and pictures are teasers, but this is what some of the fan base wanted, for pics and videos to be shown. I am sure that the Devs would rather just work on the mod then release vids and pictures, but then you get members wanting them to show the work they have...

For obvious reasons you understand why the cannot take donations or charge a cent for this game (Copyright Issues). Now I could be wrong but if I remember correctly they didn't want to do any sort of Alpha and Beta release as in the past fans instead of helping with testing and reporting issues...

I would say if there is music it will be music the team creates, if they use other music direct from the anime there would be copyright issue the team would want to avoid. I am pretty sure that is the case with using their music.
