yes i do have steam, are you sure if i download the full installer it will work?

i was wondering if i need 1.2.1 before i install 1.2.3 or 1.2 because 1.2.3 and 1.2 wont let me push install and i tried starting half life before installing and it still wont let me push install, please help.

ive downloaded 1.3 and tried to install it, and i even tried playing half life before installing but it still wont let me click install, and i really want this game, if you guys could help out that would be good. thanx
