I hardly call it double-posting if the posts are more than a week apart. But back on topic, its good to see that people do actually take notice. How about dropping into the IRC channel? I'm there whenever I'm at my pc, so drop by and have a chat - Heck it doesnt even have to be about esf!

One comment regarding the previous two suggestions (Himura-Kenshin & davidskiwan). Your both overlooking one major factor: PING. Both of those systems rely on timing, thus disadvantaging those with high pings. It would even have an effect on people with low pings - if each combatent presses...

Personally I think enforced rules on a server is the wrong way to do things. I run a server most of the time (not 24/7), and just let the players set their own rules. If they want to have a duel, or no melee, or mps games, thats fine by me. I do draw the line at flaming, teasing, etc. and I...

Now that you mention it, one of my friends had that problem connecting to my server. I could connect fine but he couldn't. When I was in the game, the server name had some strange characters attached to the end of it, so I changed it to a shorter name and bingo! He could connect again.

This has happened to me on quite a few occaisions. I am definately using OpenGL, with the latest detonator drivers for my GF4MX. I reasently applied the "increase fps" patch that grOOvy suggested and havent had the problem since. However, it could just be a coinsidence - try it out for yourself...
