WinFix Spyware/Malware removal

I've been trying to get rid of this thing. I keep getting this pop-up asking me to download WinFix, which is obviously a bogus program and thankfully I wasn't tricked. Still though, I can't get rid of whatever produces these pop-ups. As well, my internet tends to randomly error after some time surfing. Apparently WinFix is fairly common, but a pain in the arse to get rid of as it's some kind of mutating fiend.

I found one program that detected it, but the program is FORTY DOLLARS to get the full version. Other than that, no luck.

Suggestions?
