What's needed for someone to become a beta tester for esf?

the new beta testers are chosen/recommended by the team

Basicly said. The team has to trust you enough. And normaly asking to become one dosent help. ^^

That's it i wasn't asking asking to be a beta tester, besides i don't even know what a beta tester does. Oh yeah what is a beta tester suppose to do?

Beta Testers have fun playing around with unreleased Stuff....

Nah they have to find bugs were are ingame. And they have to try stuff out where you cant even dream of.

They have to try all possibilitys out and even the unpossible stuff.

Beta testers test the beta.

Basically, you need to have been here a long time so we have gotten to know you. It also helps to be friends with a few of the team members so they can vouch for you.

Unfortunately ESF is alot like the real world, and it's not what you know, it's who you know.

Just knowning them doesn't help, you also have to be an extremely likable guy, you got to be funny and you need to be able to pick up a banana between your butt cheeks, walk a 20 ft in a straight line and drop it into a cup.

No fair, Gr00vy made me do it for a mile ;.; Basically, yeah, you need to be an active member of the community and have visibility for a long time. You also need to show commitment to ESF and the community as a whole. Furthermore, though, beta testing's not all fun and games It's really a pain when you're trying to track down an essoteric, yet crucial bug.

What others have mentioned in the thread pretty much sums it up. Only after these reasons may you by invited to beta testing as a beta tester is a invite only postion.
