In reality it is actually quite a distance, but it is excessive. Personally, I dont like the depth of field blur effect at all, but it does make for some nice shots with a focused lens effect.

Great pic!
Looking at this pic make me think that the game is almost done!

It's a far more sensible effect for the game then cel shading or something silly like that.

Good news is you can turn DOFB off if you want. I don't know if it's even perfected yet.

I dont see how. The show was painted on cels, using 2-3 tone lighting. At no point were regular background shots smudged and blurred to such excess that you required a new optical prescription.

IMO the threshold is too high, it degrades the overall visual experience and the contrast between world and object. For me, it feels less like a living painting to me anymore. When I play a game, I dont want to see like Im not wearing glasses when I am.

It does look good when you are taking certain screenshots, but I still think a Depth of Field Tint would work better than outright Blur.

Indeed, way too much bloom and blur going on, other than that it looks fantastic.

well it really doesn't matter how much bloom/blur there is right now. It's all a matter of degree once the basic code is in. Then it's just an issue of adjusting it. Kinda like how ppl flipped their **** over how the shadows in some of the original HL2 screenshots were cast in the wrong direction.
