Earth's Special Forces is now looking for new blood to fill in the Beta Testing roster for the last time. So if you're interested in testing ESF's final release, head on over to the application page!

ESF Beta Test Application

Remember to read the rules and apply only once. If you have any questions or comments, visit this thread. Applications will close on June 21st, 2009. Please note that your application can be seen by anybody.

Last Sunday, Harsens stepped down as lead coder and passed the title on to Raven, one of the newest and most devoted coder that joined the team in January of 07. Congratulations, Raven! Well deserved!

Rick, a coder that previously worked on ESF has offered to come back to the team to help finish the final release. We couldn't turn down an offer from such an amazing coder, so from now on, Rick will be implementing brand new bots and a whole new bot GUI.

And now you will have many applications from "nameless" people who've just registered only to play ESF earlier. Is that really needed?

Everyone will get a fair review based on their answers and our own evaluations.

Dude :S:S:S , if only this was one month later, you would count on me 24/7, it happens I have the entire July filled with exams, after that I would be completelly free and available to be a part of the final project.

Congrats to Raven, and wealcome back to Rick

I think I had Rick on my ICQ a long time ago. Shame I lost my ICQ thing, but yeah, he was a cool guy. I remember him doing the bots.

That's sweet that Rick is back to do the Bots and the GUI for them. I'm excited.

Welcome back Rick!

Ehh I can't decide if I should post application or not... I have HL, I've been following on progress since ESF 1.2 was released, but I'm silent type guy, my english is bit crappy, and I'm weak player. I didn't played in Open Beta for a long time and I don't have much testing experience besides Mugen stuff...

I want to check out ESF so much, but I would be feel bad if I get beta and I wouldn't be helpfull because lack of skills, or language barrier. What should I do ?

I'd say you have nothing to lose by trying.

I was horrible at ESF. I, too, am more of the strong, silent type (I had very few suggestions). What I did have was organizational abilities (ie: the ability to keep track of information pertaining to bugs well enough during a testing session, the ability to run tester meetings at least passably well, and the patience to sit through one staged bug recreation after another). I think that being able to work cooperatively and procedurally are more important than being good at ESF or having the best suggestions. Of course, being able to give feedback on the various new features is always welcomed, be it criticism, suggestions for alternative methods of presenting the same feature, or just a good, old-fashioned pat on the back.

So, if you think you might be even a little interested and know you'll have the time, go ahead and apply. The worst that can happen is that you get turned down.

Well then it's simple. No beta, but you can still play 1.2.3 and the Open Beta.(I suggest 1.2.3 though, as it's the most stable and enjoyable.)
