Pixel Shader!!

Wow! Check out ESF!!! It's certainly come a long way on the old Half-Life Engine!

The original Half life, was a Directx 7.0 game. Meaning no support for Pixel or Vertex shaders. Was it Steam who added support for vertex and pixel shaders in game? Also what's the highest version of it does it support? ( I am thinking directx 9 so maybe 2.0? )

Great Work team!!

we'Re still using OpenGL not DirectX. Shader Support was added by us, not steam. Our libraries support directX 10, however since we're using OpenGL it really doesn't matter. since we have to write all of the shaders manually anyways.

Well I have an even greater appreciation now for the great effects!! :)

Just a curious question, do the libraries support Opengl 3.0 as well?

they do, but it doesn't mean we'll be using it, it's very unlikely we'll use openGL 3 or anything >= shader model 3, cuz that would render lots of people unable to play it, and we still want to support a wide array of computers.

Good, as I would be one of those people that would no longer be able to play. With support only upto 2.0.
