Advanced melee is kind of useless, but there are two combos you can do. The combos will only work if one of the arrows hits.

Down (weak punch), downleft(weak punch), left(weak punch)
And
Down(weak punch), downright(weak punch), right(weak punch), left(medium kick)

Also, three quick tips for adv. melee if you don't already know them
You can usually trip up pros by starting a combo, then changing it up. For example, down, downright, right, then a hard hit in a random direction.
Never do directional attacks in advanced melee (with the exception of when you're doing a combo). Directional attacks decrease the chance of your hit getting through by half.
Make the last hit in advanced melee a hard hit.

er, I just reread my post, I made a typo. For the second combo, it's

Down(weak punch), downright(weak punch), right(weak punch), left(medium kick)

Nope, it's the same two combos for all characters.

Another thing you could do is actually prepare a heavy or medium kick/punch first. If that hits, then the opponent won't be able to block the next weaker hit.

- 1 Heavy hit = 2 undodgable weak hits, 1 undodgable medium hit

- 1 Medium hit = 1 undodgable weak hit.

Now with Kung-Fu action!

Or you could use basic melee, it normally helps more to be good at that than adv melee.

I'm eagerly awaiting the new advanced melee though, it sounds interesting.

I... don't think that's true. Maybe getting a hard hit off increases the chances of a random hit happening, but I've never heard of a hard hit making the next hit happen automatically.

I think he might be right As i've heard of this before too:

Block Stun

When a Strong or Medium hit lands, your opponent receives a "Block Stun".

If a Strong attack lands, your next medium attack or your next two(2) weak attacks will hit, regardless of whether your opponent blocked it.
If a Medium attack lands, your next weak attack will hit, regardless of whether your opponent blocked it.
