I'm trying to play CTDB mode but I can't find any dragonball at any map. I now this mode is still unfinished but I remember playing CTDB on older versions. Anybody knows what can be wrong?

Many of the default 1.2 maps aren't compatible with this mode. I think you might be able to get the mode running on the map esf_riverside, but if not, try some custom maps from esf-world. Off the top of my head, s2k_cellgames should work, as well as the 1.1 maps.

If you just want to play this mode to get a huge pl, I'd recommend just installing amxx, then installing this plugin, it lets you change the powerlevel of anyone in the server to whatever you want.

Hope that helped

I know that it works only with some maps. I tried with every single map that comes with esf 1.2.3 but none of them worked.
My goal wasn't get a huge powerlevel, it was just the fun of catching the dragonballs and seeing shenglong.

esf_riverside definitely has dragonballs

So, are you sure you were in mp_gamemode 2?

Start riverside, type "mp_gamemode 2" into the console and then "restart"
That should work (without the quotation marks)

CTDB only works on Riverside, like many people said. Nothing else.

Well, like I said, it also works on a lot of custom maps.

Well, I am trying at riverside.
DJ-Ready, I did as you asked but didn't work either.
When I restart I check the gamemode and it's back to "1".

Try going to your ESF folder (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\youraccountnamehere\half-life\esf), finding the listenserver.cfg file and adding in the line

mp_gamemode 2

Also, do a click lookthrough of that file to make sure the line "mp_gamemode 1" isn't there somewhere.

Ok, I did that. Now the game is always mode 2 but still no balls.
Ps.: There wasn't the line "mp_gamemode 1".

Delete the file named game.cfg

Then you should be able to set the mode from your main menu normally.

Now with Kung-Fu action!

Oh and one of the DB's have a tendency to get stuck underground and remove any chance of getting them all, in Riverside any way.

Well,
1.Do you have the latest openbeta release?(christmas release)
2.It's not finished and it works only on esf_riverside by selecting the CTDB mode.

I've tried on other esf1.2.3 maps and some of them worked! one example is esf_arrival!

I find most of my maps have dragonballs even with CTDB off, and quite often all at the one spot from the get-go, though Im thinking this is to do with ecx being installed

Yes that is because of ECX.

Those dragonballs are just a gamebreaker though.

The originall CTDB is played like. First team to make X number of wishes wins the match.
