Another Question

i know i have been asking alot of questions but i jsut joined like 5 hours ago anyways.......my question is this you would all know if you read my other posts that i have half-life instaled but i lost he cd key...so i cant play esf i was just wondering is esf alhpa the same as beta?????

ESF Alpha and ESF Beta are completely different from each other, though ESF Beta releases are more recent.

oh.....lol do i need to have half-life through stream to play alpha

ESF Alpha was developed and released way before Steam was released, so it should work with non-Steam Half-Life.

YAY atlest i can play some-type of esf lol well i'll try it thanks for all the help mc your the best

sorry for double posting but dude when i go to play alpha when i click on a map to play then click continue but it says this file is missing....

What file does it saying that you're missing?

could not load libary C:/sierra/half-life/esforces/cl_dllls/client.dll
and on some maps it says this
failed to load engine DLL
also the serve name it put my on is ESFn00b
but just now i tryed with ESF and it didnt work

Use Steam! You can't play through WON.

Then buy a new Half Life? They are like 10 bucks these days.

I'm afraid you have to buy another copy to get a valid and new cd-key. We no longer support people using the WON version.

alright then i jsut wanted to try and play any esf fast but ok i guess i gotta buy a new copy

Well Alpha is nothing like ESF beta. So you dont gain anything from seeing it.

It doesnt have bots and no servers for over 3 years. Good luck ^^

why whats all the diffrence between alpha and beta anyways

The only thing working in alpha were beams (but explosions sometimes crashed). Melee was buttonmashing and you were darn lcky to hit anything. Models were standard HL size, were not as sgood as in beta and no transformations (allthough there was a SSJ pluggin if i remember in any case its probably long gone).

Beta - working melee, bots, more KI attacks, transformations, models 4 times smaller than normal HL (means maps seem 4 times bigger), overall faster gameplay, stuff like that ^^

wow.....now if only i had a damn working cd key i would be on my way
edit:wow i can't find a damn store anywhere that sells half-life1 still i cant even find a store that sells computer games!!!!!!!!
besides ebgames but they dont have half-lifr1 cause its to old

That seems rather odd, A friend went to EB Games, although they didn't have it in stock they got them to order it in.

well your friend is damn lucky then

If you have a credit card, you can just order from Steam.
