HL:source

ok...i know this has probably been asked b4...but i couldnt find anything in the search that answered my question...i was wondering if esf and the new open beta would work with hl:source...for some reason steam is saying that my cd key for hl1 is in use by someone else so im trying to decide weather or not i need to go buy a new copy

I'm afraid it doesn't. Because Half-Life: Source is using the new Source Engine that Half-Life 2 also uses. As you may already be aware, Half-Life's engine and the Source Engine are way too different. So, Earth's Special Forces and the Open Beta only works with Half-Life 1, and it also doesn't work with the Counter-Strike: Condition Zero package.
