Dunno the exact commands anymore. First gunzip it. The untar it.
Use man gzip and man tar to get help about tar/gzip. Or use Kpackage if you're a kde-user.

Or unzip it using winzip and move the extracted file to your linux.

Somebody emailed me asking how I installed this on Linux.

Note that once installed, I am still unable to get it to work - see my "Linux Port?" post in this forum with details.

Here's what I did to install the mod:

1. Install the Windows version on your windows box.
2. Create a zip file (call it esforces.zip) of the esforces\ directory (and all subdirectories). Make sure you use the "store pathnames" option, and that all paths start with esforces\
3. Move the zip file to your Linux box.
4. Change to your half-life directory.
5. Unzip the zip file with the following command:
unzip -a esforces.zip
6. Download the esf.tar.gz and put it in your esforces/dlls directory.
7. Extract the tar file with the following command:
tar zxvf esf.tar.gz
8. Edit the esforces/liblist.gam file. Add the following line:
gamedll_linux dlls/hl_i386.so
9. Start the server with the following command:
./hlds_run -game esforces
10. Type map esf_desertarena at the console and watch it crash.

I'll ask again, anyone know how to get this working on Linux?
