Is that win32.kliez thingy on the main page a worm virus? Or just a e-mail spammer that bugs u?

its a worm that will go in your adress book if you open it and it will be sent to all your contacts.

but will it drill into ur hard-drive and erase files? like a regular worm or is it just a spammer

My guess is yes, that it will harm your hard drive because ESF wouldn't post about it if it was just a mail bomb!!

mm if the scanning progam is correct I have that worm for a looooooooooooooong time... no probs here tough guess it likes me

i believe it is just a mass mailing worm, but how many of you actually want a virus on your computer come on, and anyway you can already see what it can do, SLOW DOWN THE FORUMS, you have to think of it the worm was not directed at you it takes the mass to cause trouble with a worm like that.

of you mean dont open the virus file its a bit hard cuz it opens its self

But it just dosnt appear on your system you have to download it!
It may be harder to avoid than im making it out.

as far as i know only one email-worm is able to infect your pc if you open an email
all others are attachments executed by the USER :S

yep, i had one once, my stupid mother opened it up, and back then i had no virus scanner, it was one file, but it made about 6000 black e mails all over the computer, in nearly every folder, and it KILLS, lucky its off now, took alot of time thou

bah ... man.. he should of post that in n00b centrall... hes all scared .. oh mommy! what am i gonna do! a worm AHH! :cry:

hehehe good point, same thing with that "ILOVEYOU" virus, everyone was shating themselfs, even if its the easyest virus to not get, unless your a total moron who opens up stuff saying "iloveyou" -.-

Exactly common sense can and will save your ass in all aspects of life not just on the virus front.
