Little problem with ESF

ive been playing esf for a long time, then stopped.
Patches came out and now when i start up a ESF game on LAN, or join one on the internet my HL goes POOF, minimizes and poof gone.
Please help, im in a big mood to play ur mod. BIG

and when it goes in loading it errors and its says this.

hm...have you tried to reinstall hl?
do you use the latest hardware drivers?

Im almost sure that it is your sound card that is pissing you about!
Directions:-
1. Fiddle With The Sound settings switch all the sound acceration and hardware stuff of.
2. Update Soundcard Drivers.
3. Retry Step 1.
4. You now the rest update HL then reinstall
