get console

this is a sweet mod and im new- i have so many ideas since i used to be into dbz really bad but im more into the games now, so heres my question how i get my console? i press~ and ` doesnt work at all! and i looked for it but no key to set it off to be found so someone help

to the command line parameters for HL when you launch.

or in other words edit a short cut so it says something like "C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -dev" in the Target: text box

after i put in -console what do i do??? im getting sorta confused but its like max payne so im getting it so tell me all

After you add dev mode and console it should work normally no matter what mod you play

ie Hit the `/~ key and the console will come up.

or you search in the config.cfg for the line `console "0.000000"´ and change it to `console "1.000000"´
then change the file to writeprotected(hl always set this option back to 0)

Are you sure it is in the right directory? It should be in halflife/esf

this button on your keyboard

you make a shortcut on your desktop which has the following command line:
c : \ sierra\half-life\hl.exe -console -game esf
(or whichever directoryyour hl.exe is in)
then use the shortcut so you will see hl starting up with esf as a mod if you filled in everyting alright then start a game and use the ~ or ` button and then you will get the console except if you changed the console button ofcourse but that can be found in the controls menu
