Console SSJ script

Hi I just installed Half Life into my dads PC and everything seems to be OK, I patched it up then installed ESF from a PC Powerplay DVD. It all runs fine, then when I try to bring up the console it doesnt come down, even when I load the shortcut with the +console thing. Also the console seems to be fine with TFC and Deathmatch Classic and the normal Half Life. And when I go into the main menu and click console after I go to custom games and activate the ESF then it just comes up with the picture or Marjin Vegeta and Goku squaring off but theres no typing space or anything. The point of getting the console up is because I wanna try out the SSJSCRIPT thingy and I think you gotta activate it in the console so it works when you open the half life desktop thing.
