in the beta the model size is knocked to 1/4 the alpha.

so were smaller and the maps get bigger without actually making the maps bigger.

i couldnt be bothered but soon someone will come in here and explain about the whole 1/4 model size and all that

the models are shrunk 4 times so the maps seem 4 times bigger

they are making the models ( the character you control) 1/4 smaller.

from what ive seen the models dont look smaller AT ALL it just allows the levels to be much bigger and run better at the same time, itll be good trust me

so the maps only SEEM bigger

Hee Selkerot, wat ze zeggen is dat de models 4x kleiner worden, en de kaarten veranderen niet/weinig van grootte. Dus het lijkt (ook onder het spelen) alsof de kaarten 4x groter zijn, maar de models lijken niet kleiner. En van die screenshots... je moet wel een beetje de site bekijken voordat je gewoon dingen gaat vragen die duidelijk te vinden zijn...

i dotn know if bigger maps is a good thing or bad, because wiht some of the big maps in the alpha i can onlt see half the map the other half is disappeared, juss think if the maps were 4x biggerO_O , unless the team fixed this or sumtin

*sigh* Most ppl don't set up the max viewable distance when they compile their maps, that's why it disappears after a certain distance. You can see the entire map in the Beta versions though, cause me and Zero is leet ;)

Just one question has this been done in any other Mod because if it hasn't these would be the BIGGEST map in half life history i think

most mods have a minor differance like a little bigger or smaller than the "proper" model size

Well, DOD has some pretty huge maps or at least they seem really big!!
