Charge effects, Beam effects .. question

Hi

Just out of curiousity...

Id like to know how the charge and beam attacks work..
I saw that for the beam attacks you're using sprites,
but for the Charging I saw some sort of model?

Ingame the beam attack look 3d though...
Whats the deal about this?
Is it all thanks to the coding? Are sprites wrapped around 3d geometry ?

Plz id like to know.

Hope someone could clear this up for me,

They are just normal sprites!! Altho, there could be somethin in the code to make em look 3d, but Im not sure!!

its called useing mulitple sprites to make it apear 3d :p


so basicly the beams look like * from strieght on and each little line is a beam sprite

Hi all , tnx :) Yea I'm Dutch n proud of it :p

I posted here cuz im interested in all the modeling stuff
and mod making. All the techniques :)

ow and the sprites, they just made 3 sprites in front of each other, then the beam, and then the same thing again

also u wanna learn? what can u already do? and what stuff u like to learn?

Well I am interested in all this stuff ..
What i can do? I can model ..
Following coarse multimedia in Rotterdam at the GLR
:)

What i want to do is model some dBZ inspired models..
Lowpoly ,, And also want to do some animation
and cool effects .. for practise ..

When I saw the energy beams n stuff ,, I asked myself
if I could accomplish such an effect in 3ds max without
Making ( geometry ) or dealing with videopost ..

I know its done using the halflife engine ..
Thats why I asked about the sprites. .
Still dont get how its done exactly..
But you guys gave me some nice info :)
