beta trouble

hey im having a very annoying problem.everytime i join a game in beta for some reason the mouse cursor apears and then it just exits me out of the whole esf completly...this never happened with the alpha and this is very annoying becuz i have been despartly been trying to play the game but after 5 seconds its all done..please tell me whats wrong?

probably you're running in software mode and its just crashing like it has done for a lot of people. put it in opengl mode. RESTART halflife.

wait no i dont have halflife i have counter strike and im not sure how to do what ur telling me please explain it im ver desparate..thanks
