Problem with lag... only this mod, plz read and help ASAP

Only in this Mod do I ever get lag, games like CStrike or NS give me a ping of 40 like most other non mods/HL games also. But with ESForces (awesome game) i will start the game with a ping of 250-500 and mid game it can reach 1000-2500!

Everyone gets this lag and I am tired of not being able to play. please help.

My system specs are:
AMD Athlon XP 1700+
GeForce 4 Ti4600 128 MB AGP
Sound Blaster Live!
Cable Modem 1500/128

check your connection speed with esf or try another server

im no expert in fact im like a newb to this but maybe its just because youve gotten bad luck and no one that lives close to you has ever played with u p.s. also you should only have a maximum of 5 ppl in ureg ame to minimimize lag

I have the same problem when I create a server, and I know a lot of others also have it.

The ping is usually good, but it often changes to like 2500 or so, causing everyone on the server to leave. And since not much dedicated servers are available yet (central Europe), it's the only way to play this great game.

but i think the esfserver has some serious bug...
Even with an Athlon XP 2000, 1 Gig Ram and 110 Mbit connection THERE IS STILL LAG !
(minimum netgraph-ping about 150 (Win2k console about 20-30))

Would be nice if someone of the team writes a comment if there is such a bug and if it can be fixed

DAMN!!! If i join a decent cable modem server, i dont get lag too often, maybe a few lag spikes when every1 goes SSJ or a huge power struggle is going on, but i have 900mhz AMD Athlon Nvidia VANTA 8MB AGP ( ITS PROLLY THE WORST GFX CARD OF ALL ) and soundmax digital with DSL modem, and i get less lag than that.... makes me wonder, its prolly the server your on or if you have a firewall turn it off

check ure rate dude its on 300 by default. if ure on cable 8000 is perfect, 9999 is choppy

The servers you join in CS and NS are most likely dedicated. Right now you are probably joining servers that people create, and they are much more laggy than servers that are not dedicated. Expect to see more dedicated servers when the linux build is released (soon i hear).
