help in the esf opening...

i installed the game and everything in the drive c and i cant find the icon to open the game i downloaded the beta 1 to play but i cant find the icon to open the game.
p.s. is the beta, the demo?
please help me...:\

you go to the mod veiwer in half life chose ESF Beta1 and load.
the u play
if u work wil Alll seeing eye then just chose esf in the filters.

i cant find it, im in C:\Sierra\Half-Life\esf and i dont find any mod viewer...
man this is frustrating i donwloded this, it took 2 hours, plus the waiting and then i dosnt work please help...

create a new shortcut with this directory


C: \SIERRA\Half-Life\hl.exe -console -game esf

Make a shortcut, or change from the "Run" menu in the startmenu, so it looks like this:

C: \Sierra\Half-Life\hl.exe -console -game esf

If you cant figure that out, try opening HL normally. When you have done so, select the menu on the third from the bottom selection, and it should be called something like "Mod Viewer" or something like that. Find ESF, and run it from there.

If nothing of this works, there is a slim chance you have the same error i had one time.

C:/Sierra/Half-Life/hl.exe -console -game esf

Try changing the backslashes to normal slashes

it still dosnt work i cant find it man, its frustrating can someone explain it to me step by step... if its not a big fus, and i would apriciate it if you would, thanx...

ok budd .. this is a "mod" (short for modification) it's not a stand alone game. you need Half-Life .. and you can't just download it, because you need a valid cd-key to play on the net.

so to be able to play ESF you have to buy half-life.

then follow the instruction listed above (in the other posts)
