ESF problems

here's the story: when i first downlaoded ESF, it worked fine, no installer problems. Then i found some missing textures in a level, so i tried to reinstall ESF, but it didn't work, so i uninstalled it and tried installing it all over again(big mistake). now, i get that stupid msi problem, ive downloaded the msi script, and the installer wont work, ive updated windows completely, i still get the msi problem, and the link to the ZIP version of ESF doesnt work, i get a 404 error ;(

now, can someone please help, either by telling me how to fix the msi, or by giving me a working link to downlaod the ZIP version.

Well, you probably should have not reinstalled it after the first one. Because the missing textures problem seems to affect a lot of people, including myself. But I just don't play the maps that are missing textures.

But as for your problem now, I don't know what to tell you. Reinstall again?

ESF Stryker did not like the map, he removed it's textures from the file he uploaded. harSens included the map by mistake in the final build. Styker's comp had major problems and required a reformat, destroying any chance that the custom textures could be saved. I cant reinstall it again;( cause every time i try i get the msi error;(

try reinstalling the drivers for your msi

I've tried that too. I've been through the thread about the installer problem and tried everything there, and nothing works

Like ChannelForThePa said; EVERYBODY has this problem, its just a bug..

Just wait for the patch were it shall be fixed.

never mind the texture problem. I'm more concerned with not being able to play ESF

call me stupid, but what does the msi error say?

it says "The installation package could not be opened. Contact the program vendor to verify this is a valid windows installer package"
what i cant work out is that it installed the first time, but after i uninstalled it, it wont work

when you uninstalled, did you uninstall from the windows add/remove program list or the ESFb100.exe? try to uninstall it again using esfb100.exe and then reinstalling it. perhaps this may work?

I uninstalled using esfb100.exe
would downloading the file again fix the problem? or would that be a waste?

Just down it again everything should be just fine.
