Hello everyone (especially ESF-team members)...
I have a problem:
I've read the walkthrough on how to install the bots and stuff but I still don't get it.
I am not that good with installing mods and editing files so I was hoping one of you could help me out.
I was hoping one of you guys could mail me a perfectly detailed description on how to install the bots (and add them to the game) step by step.
Could you please help me out.
I downloaded the beta a few days ago and I really want to play it (against bots, so I can practise a little) but I don't know how to add them.
I have the ESF-bot and the adminpackage, is there still something missing?
If you can help me out, please send the solution to my emailadres.

Thnx

Ok I'll try this.
If I still can't manage to install them (yes I know, I am a noob, but I am one that really wants to play ESF) I'll be back :)
Just saw the trailer, damn!!!
It rocks :)

You do not need the adminpackage to use the esf bots. The adminpackage is for people that run dedicated servers to make it easier to admin it.

Just follow the guide bram64 made and you will be alright.

I read the guide, one problem: I can't add "-console" to "Half-Life\hl.exe"
I receive an error saying something about being unable the file "console" in hl.exe.
What is the problem?
I did everything I had to do.
I assume it doesn't make a difference that I didn't install Half-Life and ESF in C:\Sierra\Half-Life, but in a different location.

BTW, do you need Counter Strike to be able to play ESF, or is the latest Half-Life patch (what was it again, v1.1.1.0 or so, which I do have) good enough to enable me to play ESF?

Are your sure you add -console in the correct place?

It doesn't matter where you install half-life, as long as that you install esf in the half life folder.

You don't need counter-strike to play esf. All you need is a legal copy of half-life, the latest update and esf.

Ok, I've got alll of that.
I put -console in the following place:
Half-Life shortcut (right mousebutton, than properties) and where it says Destination"D:Games\Half-Life\hl.exe" I changed it to "D: \Games\Half-Life\hl.exe -console"
Should this do the trick?

Hmmm, but it doesn't.
I get some sort of error about the destination being invalid.
Does this have to do with my OS, I use XP.

you can also try to edit the config.cfg in the esf-folder
search the line
console "0.000000"
and change it to
console "1.000000"

save the file and change it to write-protected
make sure you set your controlls before you try that because hl can´t change them anymore when the write-protection is active

I'll try that too.
I assume that I have to open the file with wordpad, or notepad or whatever.

*right!*
