I just wondered what fps people get on esf. Put your specs too.

I get 60 fps but I would have thought that it should be higher.

specs:
AMA athlon 2100+
Ge-force 4 TI 4200
512 generic ddr ram

Thats your maximum FPS then. You probably never drop below 59.9 FPS or go above 60.0 FPS,

I virtually have the same specs, except PC2700 DDR (1 gig) and Ti4600 and I get the same. I'm not going to make sacrafices to get faster FPS, and I also run at the largest screen size resolution.

if you want more fps, setting your monitor refresh rate higher than 60hertz would help :p

60Hz?!?! WTF! I can't stare at it for 10 secs cause I get a huge headache... 85Hz at least...

I'm gonna measure my fps rate and post it here... btw you using OpenGL or D3D?

the refresh rate can be lower since the size of the monitor is smaller :p but if the monitor is large, then yes you should generally use more than 60 hz, my monitor itself is at 60hz, and its 15" however, people with larger monitors eg 17, 19" will obviously need a refresh.

Also halflife is locking at 60hz, due to vsync, if you turn vsync off, it will go up to 100fps i think, which is halflifes default maximum fps. You can turn this off in the geforce 4 settings. :) i hope this clears things up for you

I hear you Pemalite.

My computer, or should I say laptop that I use for gaming has a maximum of 30 fps. I would say it's a miracle I can play any video games on it at all.

I have an 8mb video card. Go me!

HSU the thing is, YOU DIDNT NEED TO POST! bloody hell you can play anything on the darn planet, why come in here bragging ur
-beeep- ass off! I dun wanna know what ur system is unless its crap and under mid level... and yeah... if you knew the pains and sorrows of having a crap slow pice of junk then you would relise how special your computer is, and that you DONT show off, and btw there is ALLWAYS someone who has a faster system... and the 2100+ isnt that only 1.8ghz? that isnt very fast if you keep in mind that intel have a 3.06ghz processer, and even then AMDS fastest process (the Barton) is only rated at about 2.1ghz so fner.

this is going to sound dumb, but how do you view all those stats about how esf is running while you play it?
