pleaze help this is wate i do thene it shuts down on me
i start it
i go to lan
then i click free and then click go
then it shuts down without an error

You must be using Software for your video mode.
Load ESF or Half-Life, and on the main menu click Configuration, then Video, then Video Modes.
Now select the OpenGL tab, or Direct3D if OpenGL isn't supported by your video card, and a suitable screen resolution.
The special effects in the game make ESF crash when it's using software mode, so just don't use it.

Hmmm...did you try using OpenGL? Or does your card not support it?

my computer does not support OpenGL.

What kind of video card do you have? If you have a voodoo I might be able to help.
