I can listen server. but not dedicated.

Heres about all i can say:
Ethernet dsl 512k
Linksys switcher router (ports forwarded)
I can get plenty of ppl on my listen server, but if i do dedicated, noone can join.
(if theres anymore information that you need please tell me)

Another problem I have is it cannont load some TrackerUl.dll (listen or dedicated)

Does the console ever get to the Adding Master Servers part?

What does it say when you type in Status in the console?

Its listing your internal IP Address and not your outside address.

Add +ip YOUROutsideIPHERE to the command line and try it.

Do you mean doing that command?
If so whats the full command?

When you launch the dedicated server

HLDS.exe -game esf +ip YOURIP +map esf_kami +maxplayers 6 +port 27015

to get your outside ip:
go to start -- run -- type command -- then hit ok

in the command prompt, type ipconfig/all

i believe the thing that says DNS Server: **.**.*.* is your outside ip address

and when he says +ip YOURoutside ip here, he means in the dedicated server command line, type that, with YOURoutside ip here with the number you got above

ok remove that line and add -noipx to the command line.

its giveing me the same stuff it was giving me earler (status) exept it isnt giving ipx

Setting your IP isn't always the answer, NAT will take care of that with the round-trip. If they can connect to your listen server then everything should be fine when you attempt a dedicated. (Since you did forward port 27015) Second, disregard IPX messages.

Now, when you host the dedicated, make sure you're running the latest WIN32 HLDS, and you more than likely have the latest ESF version.

hlds.exe -game esf +exec server.cfg +map esf_riverside

That should just start up a console and you should be set.

(Come to think of it.. if you double-click on hlds.exe, you *should* get the new GUI-based HLDS menu options to start a dedicated Internet server. Try it out, and if you don't get it, you have an old HLDS.)

I have this same problem. It's the god damn linksys router. I'll try the IP thing when I get home, and see if it works....

Iam downloading thef hlds, but its a ***** of a file to dl.
Its gooan takemme 30 minutes.

I thought you weren't supposed to have the newest version of hlds? I thought thats what caused the problem with 1.1?
