Is there any way to disable the damn thing? I'll end up hitting it, then the sound goes. Gah.

Hitting ESC twice works for me, hitting resume doesn't for no apparent reason

punching out the key or breaking the key doesnt mean it will stop it. You might just break the spring but from hitting the key it will still press the button on the actual keyboard inside the plastic.

and if you use DirectX sound wont get disabled, yet DX isnt as good as openGL on half-life. ;p

If you ask me, you have the following problems.
You got fat fingers, so whenever you press on a key, you end up pressing 3-4 other keys around it. That or you got no keyboarding coordinations at all lol.

Just kidding, but if you ask me you need some keyboarding practice?
