halflife 2

are you guys thinking about making esf for halflife 2 when it comes out?

Um, the code probably wont even be remotely similar, everything would have to be redone (code wise), and if we want it to look decent on the new engine, we would have to redo all the models/skins/sprites/etc...
Personally, I'm hoping to let ESF die on HL1, and move onto other non-dbz mods... Or maybe start messing with the quake 1-2/whatever code... dunno :/

I'd have to agree with Joe, even if they did redo everything and bring ESF on Half-Life 2, I dont see it getting much better than what it is now ( allthough the ESF teams has proven me wrong about that already). Even still the HL2 engine is too realistic, DBZ is cartoony, it would ruin the look of the game.

Well, problem is ... if HL² is out , with full support for all ppl want to do a Mod for it ... the old HL mod community will die , well not die for 100% but y take an engine wich is old and ugly if u can have the new one , to do much greater Mod projects than ever before ... ? Everything in HL² will just be better ... and Time should not be the problem , if HL² will live so long as the first part of :id: ...
