I can't start the game what's going on???????

hmmm.......hard to help...(not specific enough)

is half-life updated?

if it brings up an error message, tell us what it says

does the game just not start, or does it at least get to the menu?

You may need to upgrade half-life. You can get that here: http://www.playerofgames.com/index.php?id=542

Also you need to download the ESF Beta 1.1 Full and not the 1.0 - 1.1 patch. Find thathere .

Never use Software render, you can change this in the Option>Video>Video(modes i think) on the half-life main menu, after that change it to the resolution and render mode of your choice. I suggest you use OpenGL if you want good FPS or D3D if you have good GFX card and want high quaility graphics (your fps will most likely suffer).

Can you create a game and no one joins? This would be caused by a firewall.

YAou need HL 1.1.1.0.That's all(like to me).

Er, first of all this thread is.... dead. By now, he almost definately has his question answered b/c he didnt ask for more help. 2 ppl also have said to upgrade half life, so i think a third is a little unnecesary... And if you need sig hosting, ask someone in artwork... Sorry guys, i couldnt help it, when i got the email someone replied to this....
