ive tried everything.. first i installed halflife counterstrike.. without updating it to 1.005 .. is that the problem? anyways.. i installed esf.. and i downloaded bots.. and then i created a lan game.. so just when its about to start i get a file error. it wont find a file.. so i found the file on net. and then it just comes back to the desktop when its about to start. so i did as the sticky says and i updated my video card and i turned on openGL . still it wouldnt work. whats the problem?

Yep, you have to have the highest version of whatever you are using(CS in this case) However since you downloaded another file and replaced it, you may have to reinstall everything and then upgrade to the highest version before playing
