Converting demos???

i put this in the n00b thread cause i aint sure and i couldnt find a sticky........

does anyone know how i can convert a demo file to a avi or something.... i just want an answer........

You are better off downloading FRAPS (http://www.fraps.com)

To make video clips of games.

Fraps is only good with a fast HD

but I don't know how to convert a demo.
Would like to know myself

its pretty much the same as with fraps

You can play the demo in Half Life, using playdemo or viewdemo, then do "startmovie [name] [fps]" and it dumps it out to bitmap files. Like, if you want your video to be recorded at 30 fps, it creates 30 bitmaps for each second of film. Then you can use VideoMach ( http://www.gromada.com/VideoMach.html ) to convert them to an avi or wmv format...

It's much easier to use Fraps and then import the clips into Adobe Premiere or Windows Movie Maker and edit out what you don't want instead of creating 40+ gigs of bitmaps.

will video match have SOUND though

i use fraps to record vidoes of my games (i just ahvent figuerd out a way to do sound though)
