I need Help Getting Started

I have half life downloaded and got the newest version of ESF, but I cant find any games. I go to filter-> select from the mods and pick ESF but it still doesnt filter only ESF games.

Any ideas guys I really wanna play

i downloaded steam, and from steampowered, and everytime i click on it to open it, it says i need to pick a program to open it with. what can i do?
