Gohan's shield alt fire?

I noticed that when you charge the shield then hold alt fire and release it fires a ball of energy as show below:


Can anyone explain to me what exactly this does?

I think its absorbs all the energy of the ki blast that people toss at ur sheild and releases it in a ball back towards them with a little bit of added power i guess not sure really myself..also what map is that??

that would be the gero map

and yes it takes all the damage the sheild absorbed and redirects it

reminds me back of the 1.0 shield.......... you didn´t lost KI using the shiled while ssj had made the shield a mapnuker even worst the BB . you searched f a nice hiding place,charge shield for 2-3 Minutes,release shieldblast,hello complete mapnuke .The shieldatack now isnt worth the time you use,except you want a short break

it only redirects some of attacks absorbed... not full power of attacks
