Help on Installing

Well i am currently new to ESF and i need help Installing, two Questions 1: When im installing ESF it says something like: IMPORTANT You must run steam once prior to installing the steam version of ESF wat does that mean?? 2: When i go to games and then double click on ESF theres a Fatal Error it says something like: could not load library c:\programfiles\steam\steamapps\email\half-life\esf\cl_dlls\client.dll. If anyone can help me please post greatly appreciated i really want to start playing ESF people say its fun
