Create a "dodge" key.

Hold a direction and hit the "dodge" key.

When u do so for example...

backwards + "key" = (if ur on the ground) U do those secksi backflip kinda things where u flip backwards and on ur hands push off into another flip and so on :)

Think this could add a new element to evasion :\

Of course this would only work while on the ground :)

Lastly, i don't think it would "clutter" up the keyboard. Because there currently is no crouch key, so this could simply replace that.

Wow, I was going to post something similar on dodging. Except it wasn't teh way you put out. I don't know what use this would go in. Oh wait, after re-reading it, it sounds interesting. :laff: This could also work in the air (Different types of dodge). And maybe a dodge for simple melee, except modified to a way where it can't be spammed.

I see it like this...

A player swoops at you from the air... u do two backflipthingys and swoop forward immediatly after the second one. Thus catching ur opponent by surprise while still evading his attack. It wouldn't be that great on it's own... it needs to really be used in combonation with different ideas and tactics.

*************************

i'm not sure how it would work in the air. And i really don't see a need for it to be implimented in the air. But on the ground, it adds a new layer of tactics and play styles.

My question is, why would you even be on the ground? It's pointless addition in my eyes, since 99.9% of the time your in the air flying around. And if you want to "Dodge" that badly, just hit "f" and swoop backwards, or better yet teleport backwards. There, dodged.

... Thats my point. it's all arial combat now which is not at all how it is for a large portion of the series. By making this addition you create new strategys and tactics, as well as putting more people to the ground to do different things.

Plus, this should help people that don't have enough KI to do anything, and don't have enough time to charge up.

im on the ground all the time... dont knwo what your smoking (JK) seriously i am on the ground a lot. its where a lot of my tactics come from. so actually for someone like me. this could be cool. but also spammed think of a way around that. your idea is good but easily spammed.

people would be on the ground all day. and then when someone swoops at someone all they would do is dodge and counter.. but here is an idea.

add a dodge key and press 'a' for '<' 's' for 'v' 'd' for '>' and 'w' for '^' one of those pluse your "dodge" key and your character could for a few seconds move out of the way from the center of the screen for a ....few seconds lol. sorta like ssbm when somone comes at you press R and down and you'll dodge out of the way for a few seconds. that could work. it would take timing and i dont see a way to spam it yet. and its only moving out of the way its not countering. so if someone saw it sure they could turn and try to hit them.

or what you could do maybe is if someone is swooping at you press forward and dodge button and sort of tuck and roll behind them or move out of their way and get behind them and then try to swoop after them.

(NOTE: If any of you play ssbm (super smash brothers melee) then you know what im talking about) thats where i got my ideas.

I dont think it could be spammed. It would just make people change up their tactics for certain players. For the person on the ground fighting, you should switch to beams and aim around them.

Well we could have air dodge manuevers. Maybe something like a quick burst of energy in one direction. I like the idea of having a dodge key. Kinda like the mod The Specialists.
This could be used to dodge mid-air simple swoops, small kiblasts, or beams.
*pictures dodging Ki blasts matrix style :laff:*

But you have teleport. It's faster and it works in air ground and water.

I REALLY like it the esf team should really look at this this could be VERY usefull
This would almost make it a whole new game because currently the ground is...just another obsticale because of the ability to fly.... This would be SOOO SWEET if added!

Eh 95% of DBZ is in the air, even if it starts on the ground. For example, Cell games starts on the ground but everyone flies up into the air right away. The Raditz fight was mostly on the ground but that was about it. The fight with Vegeta was mostly swooping, with Frieza they almost never touched the ground, with Cell they almost never touched the ground, and with Buu the only time he stood still was to show that he could take hits.

The problem with adding a dodge key is that there are already quite a few ways to dodge. For instant dodging there's teleport, if you see something coming you can swoop or wall jump or beam jump, and that's all you really need to do.

I see what you mean Sonic Boyster, but what if you're low on KI, and need to dodge an attack. This could really come in handy.

thats why they invented this awsome little button called the "r" by default button (used to be e) not just that but if you dont have time just toggle fly off.... and you'll fall.

but yes ultimate freeza the way you stated it. Your way could be spammed easily and i stated why... so how you are saying it cant be spammed is beyond me when i gave you a reason.

ill say it again. if you are on the ground and someone comes at you and you dodge them in your idea of this dodge system you would dodge the attack and then swoop after them to counter. well... if that dodge key did all that it would be spammed and everyone would be on the ground all day waiting for someone to swoop to spam it. it would be like howing all over again. the only way around this is by beams.

... Actually a large portion of the frieza saga was on the ground. I'm not saying the majority of DBZ was on the ground, i'm saying a large portion of almost every saga was.

The first fight between Super Buu and Gohan was mostly on the ground as well. As well as the first part of Kid Buu vs Goku.

Keep in mind that when you're low on ki you are expected to lose. Giving someone a free dodging ability only seeks to make ki management less important.

uh, actually, I think this is a great idea. When you're on the ground, and you teleport, usually about half your teleport directions will just grind you into the ground and waste ki, walls aren't always around, and I swear, if something as STUPID and abusable as beam jumping can get in, then so can this idea.

first of all this isnt about the series becuase no one is playing like how the series is. its how esf is. so if esf is hardly on the ground then make it for the air. and 2nd all you have to do is power up for a second for enough ki to teleport.

Beam jumping will get toned down. If you're on the ground and you somehow don't have enough ki to jump or teleport, you lose, that's the general idea.
