I'm new.....HELP!

Okay, I installed ESF Beta, the patch, steam. So I open ESF, and it directs me to Steam and browsing games with Half Life. So how do I get this to run ESF?

Half-Life, the engine that ESF is a modification of. You have a working, installed copy of Steam (free) and the requirement of a retail copy of Half-Life or Counter-Strike (cheap), right?

I don't have Half-Life......

than you cant play ESF unless you have counter strike

I said it was cheap, didn't I? You can probably even find a better deal than that around.
In stores you might have seen a boxed set that came with the Valve-owned modifications, costing upwards of $50. The good news is that if you purchase this version of Half-Life (Game of the Year Edition), you're able to (absolutely legally) download all of the mods you want, included the Valve-owned mods that are packaged with that boxed set.
In short, buy the Game of the Year edition of Half-Life, download and setup Steam, then install ESF, and you're set.

I don't eve want to play Half Life.....But oh well.....I'll pretend I'm buying ESF instead of HL. :laff:

You most Buy HL Get the serial Then Download Steam Add the Serial then download Esf and You can play Thats all :laff: :laff:

You get one by purchasing Half-Life.
