Play with CS or no?

I seen in some post that CS will work and others it wont,so whats the answer?

I got steam-CS-CZ-CS: S

but no hl

The retail version of Counter-Strike will work. I think the retail versions of any Valve-owned HL mods will.

But when I go to istall it in CS directory its asks me to buy HL

You need legit store purchased copy of Half-Life to play ESF.

He's saying he dl'd CS over steam. But doesn't have HL.. yeah. U need HL Retail, DOD, Team Fortress, CS, any of the retail Half-life games/modifications for it to work.

thats weird you need to buy the actally cd to play but just the serial though steam dont work....ill just play on my friends account he has HL

well... it sounds like he has the retail counter-strike, so you're able to download Half-life.. if that's the case, just do that and install ESF in to the HL folder.
